Does adidas have a defective product claim process?

Online orders placed at must be returned within 90 days of receipt for a full refund. (some exceptions apply).

If you believe your item is defective and was purchased within the last 12 months from, adidas confirmed app, an adidas retail store or authorized adidas retailer*, you may be eligible to file a defective return claim.

Please note: The defective return claim does not accept returns due to size, style selection, or fit. Your claim must be accompanied by a receipt, an order number, or an adidas Confirmed app order number. If your claim is accepted, you will receive a gift card in the amount you paid for the defective item.

*eBay, StockX, and other resell site purchases are not eligible.
*Face Covers are not eligible for returns or exchanges due to safety reasons.

You can contact us to set up a defective return authorization for inspection.  adidas reserves the right to determine between defective product and normal wear-and-tear. Please have product in hand when you contact the team as you will be asked to send in three photos, one containing the article number and production date from the size tag on the item, one of your receipt or proof of purchase, and one of the actual defect to determine authenticity & eligibility for your inspection.


 File a Claim

In the event that you have an adidas product with a material or manufacturing defect, for quickest service, we advise you to first check with the place of purchase for assistance.  If you are not able to return the item to the original place of purchase, you may still be able to return the item directly through adidas.

For items returned to adidas, your product will be processed within 20 business days from the time we receive the package at our return center. (We are currently experiencing delays of up to 6 weeks in processing time, we apologize for the inconvenience)

adidas product returns require a dated receipt to process the claim. Receipt must include valid date, name of store, name or style number of product and purchase price.

Ground rules for returning adidas defective items:
  • Any product returned must have been purchased from an authorized adidas retailer.
  • No returns due to size, style selection problems, or fit.
  • Receipt from an authorized adidas retailer is required.

Q: Does adidas pay for return shipping?
A: If your item requires a physical inspection, adidas will provide a pre-paid return label

Q: Can I exchange my items?
A: If your item was purchased on within 30 days, we can make an exchange for the same item in a different size

Q: Do I need to send in a receipt with my defective item?
A: A copy of your original receipt or itemized proof of purchase will be required.

Q: Will I be notified once you receive my claim?
A: Yes. Return processing can take up to 20 business days.  Once approved, an adidas digital gift card email will be sent out to you.

Q: What if I don't have an email address?
A: An email address is required to submit a warranty claim form.

Q: Do we need to send both shoes in for a claim even if only one shoe is defective?
Yes. Both shoes will need to be sent back even if only one is defective.

Q: If my item is accidentally damaged, will this be covered under warranty?
A: The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper care, misuse, accident or neglect

Q: I purchased the item in another country, yet I live in the US. What do I select?
A: We handle warranty service for customers who reside in the US, regardless of purchase location.

Q: If I received an adidas digital gift card, can I place an order over the phone?

Q: Am I able to use the adidas gift card with any promo codes?
A: Yes. You can combine the digital gift card with any valid promo codes.
